A cultural icon, the National Museum of Singapore prides itself on introducing cutting-edge ways of presenting history, redefining the conventional museum experience.
 | We visited the NMS today and were just impressed with the way the exhibits were presented within this beautiful historical monument.
There are two main parts to the museum, namely the Living Galleries and History Gallery. The Living Galleries consist of 4 main areas, namely Fashion, Film & Wayang, Food and Photography.
|
 | This is the Fashion Gallery featuring costumes worn by women from the 1950s to 1970s. This special section also presented a set in the textile factory where it allows a more in-depth knowledge on how various garments are made. You can also touch and feel the different fabrics on display, admire the intricacies of the embroidery on a kebaya.
|
 | Here is another Living Gallery, featuring food! Yummy! Mummy didn't really take a lot of photos except for some of the traditional equipment used by the street hawkers from the 1950s to 1970s.
(clockwise from top left : soft drinks bottles and glasses commonly used in the past; a popular soft drink brand F&N signboard; popular food like laksa and char kway teow display; bicycle (??) selling kway tu-tu; satay hawker set up; a traditional ice shaving machine)
